It's always a pleasure to takeoff from LAX, but at sunrise with a storm coming off the Pacific, it is pure enchantment. Autonomous groups of clouds have formed on different levels, and in the distance there is virga: rain that evaporates before it reaches the earth. The landform at the center is the Palos Verde Peninsula.
