It's a Mess Without You! – Cinco, California – 2011

I'd been documenting the abandoned trailers at this site for three years before capturing this image. The same room appears in an earlier photograph Desert Kitchen – Cinco, California – 2010 before the sink was pried out and someone added a memorable epitaph to the scene. As a documentary photographer, I can only bear witness to the aftermath of such events, wondering like you, who may have spray-painted the message, and for what intended audience. A couple of months later, the entire property was razed to make way for a massive solar installation.
