Listing Church – Infrared Exposure with Lens Flare – Randsburg, California – 2011

Santa Barbara Catholic Church was built between 1898-1904, after the first church was destroyed by a fire. Some say planks used to construct the building were originally from a dance hall adjoining a bar with brothel 'cribs' out back. In a story replete with possible allegorical interpretations, the structure is sinking into the ground because of prior mining activity below. The building is propped up with wood beams recovered from a shuttered mine.
